Spring with Splendid: A Giveaway

Spring with Splendid + a Giveaway | The Fresh Exchange

I think we all are ready for Spring, aren’t we? Lucky for us Raleigh has been giving us little tastes of it from time to time. We will get a wonderful 70 degree day and then it will chill back down to 45.  Honestly, as someone who is used to 3 feet of snow still being in my front yard this time of year, I will take the ups and downs with a giant grin. All the warm days have me very excited for Spring fashion and the easy going way of life that comes with longer days and shorter nights. After moving from the North I have realized I am a warm weather lover. Though I love the seasons, I live for the sunny, warm days on the porch in a simple cotton outfit that simply says carefree. This is a big reason I have really fallen in love with Splendid over the years. I first experienced their amazing clothing line when a friend had a t-shirt from them. Since then I have been hooked. The tees are silky smooth and lay just right. Not to mention this season they are carrying some incredible pieces for Spring.

When they offered up the idea of collaborating I was so excited. The simplicity and quality of their pieces fit right into our lifestyle. Not to mention many of their pieces are made in Los Angeles, which is something else I really love about them.

It was fun to style a few of their new pieces with my everyday wardrobe. I nabbed a new hat recently and couldn’t wait to wear it with these woven pants from Splendid. The pants are the perfect Spring essential. Then if you think about pairing it with one of Splendid’s top notch tees, it is the perfect Spring outfit. The zippers offer up the chance for you to rock them how you want. Since it hasn’t been just warm enough for sandals, I felt these suede ankle boots from Splendid were the perfect fit to combine the Summer feeling of soft bottoms with the brisk feeling of early Spring.

Recently my wardrobe has become very basic in the best way. I have stopped buying just to buy and am buying with purpose, which feels pretty darn awesome. I do add in some on-trend items here and there and that’s why these pants were perfect. I had been debating a pair for a while, so when they arrived I fell in love.

If you haven’t had a pair yet, I kind of suggest you give them a whirl. They feel somewhere between pajamas and trousers, which is a win on it’s own. I wasn’t sure how I would make them neither look too much like pajamas nor too boho for my taste. My thoughts are to layer them with simple and modern pieces. In this case layer a simple u-neck tee and a minimalist necklace (the raw rock nods to the boho with a modern edge).  Toss on a great hat that is not floppy and in a great structured fabric and some slick booties or sandals and you have yourself an easy-to-wear anywhere Spring outfit.

  1. This is the first time I have explored the Splendid line. They have great basic pieces that are easy but put together. I had a lot of fun pinning a handful of items I would like to add to my closet along with a pair of the zipped joggers and suede ankle boots. I chose pieces that simple, classic, and easy to wear. However, I am dying over the Orlando Oxford shoes; they are perfect.

    Thanks for sharing, fingers crossed.

  2. Great store, first time visiting. Nice to see all the colour, winter has taken it’s tole.
I pinned the Solid Pant from the Women’s Holiday Collection. I can dress them up for work and I can keep them casual for weekends.

    Happy day.

  3. I love all the indigo pieces – would be perfect for the transition into spring. Have such a fun trip! Can’t wait to read about your adventures here. 🙂

  4. We recently got a Splendid store in my town and I have been in love! Definitely lusting after the casual black jumpsuit they have right now.

  5. I love Splendid’s easy breezy pieces. Their basics fit perfectly, and elevate casual outfits to a really put-together look. I’m planning my honeymoon (coincidentally, probably in Spain + Portugal!), and I love look of all of the African Wildflower pieces (tank, dress) and think they would be great to take.

  6. I have never been to the Splendid site before and I think I’m in love. I pinned a swimsuit, jumper and dress. For summer I like things that are no-fuss-chic. I can throw them on grab one accessory and I’m off. I like that they can go with a swimsuit or be worn for work. I love the jumper and dress because there’s no coordinating required. It’s one piece that already looks good so if it that’s all I wear I’m still doing well.

  7. I just want everything! But you’re right – those pants look perfect for spring. Just hope they’re not too “relaxed” for my office 🙂

  8. I am in LOVE with these looks! Comfort + color are totally my style. These colors are fresh, the material looks super light, and it feels like these are some soon-to-be wardrobe essentials that are perfect for summer travels and adventures. I pinned the Solid Pant (camo green – love olive hues), 3/4 Sleeve Shirting Top (paprika – so summery), the Jumpsuit (I have been dying to find a jumpsuit I love for years now), and the Slit Maxi (coral) for those humid days where I want something light. I think I’ve become a fan!

  9. I’ve never heard of this company before, but I now know where I’ll be doing my online shopping! The pieces have a modern and basic style which I love. I’ve been looking at getting some joggers recently, but couldn’t find some that I thought would look good on me. The ones that have are just so cute!

  10. such an awesome giveaway! I’m dying over those pants. just too perfect, had to add them to my wishlist, as well as the lagoon striped u-neck top. they look so incredibly comfy!

hope you’re having a comfortable and safe flight!

  11. I absolutely love the basic t-shirts and tank tops that are great on their own on warm, balmy days, and as layering pieces on the colder spring/summer evenings (and the winter! Currently in the 30s where I live). I love the flirtiness of the Malibu Bandeau bathing suit– the two colors are fresh and summery! I also love the Miami and Pop Geo bathing suits– the fact that they are reversible is SUCH a great idea, so I get 2 suits in one!

  12. GAH! The colors! I am loving the paprika roll sleeve dress. And I agree with Amanda: the indigo pieces are wonderfully versatile as spring gives way to summer. Thanks for sharing…and safe travels!

  13. Id never heard of Splendid – love the simplicity of some of their items. I couldn’t go past the active romper, what a fun little item for the summer warmth! Also loved the solid pant as an inbetweener – something that can be dressed up and down. And I couldn’t go past the strawberry cantina sandals – they would certainly be the signature piece that brought a simple outfit together. SO good!

  14. Those zipped joggers in blue jewel spoke to me. So lovely and paired with the Cashmere Blend Pullover in heather grey. A stylish, comfortable and no fuss outfit that can just be thrown together easily is what I need. I always gravitate towards the most comfortable things in my closet and find myself hardly wearing so much else. It needs downsizing but that’s another story!

On another note, I’m thrilled to be living vicariously through you two on your trip the next few weeks! I’m not headed over to Europe until the Fall. It’ll be my first time there and I cannot wait! This will help.

  15. I love the Henley Jumpsuit and Active Romper. It’s hard to choose which Splendid items are my favorite b/c they’re all wardrobe staples. The Mandarin Dress would also be perfect for summer in Chicago. I pinned them all!

  16. I’m 29 weeks pregnant and I will love Splendid clothes to be comfortable in while hanging out with our new baby boy. I pinned the Modal Lycra Long Skirt in River Rock and the Athletic Woven Pant in Green Lily. I love modal, so the skirt was an easy choice, and the Green Lily color of the super easy chic Athletic Woven Pant was perfect!

  17. I love the high slit maxi dress in black. It would be the perfect summer night dress and it’s so versatile. It could be used for a quick trip to the beach, a date night or even just lounging around the house. Definitely a go-to item in my summer wardrobe and I would love to use it as an outfit option in fashion/portrait shoots (I’m a Toronto based photographer!).

  18. Thanks for sharing this beautiful and classic line of clothes. I see it becoming a new favorite of mine 🙂 I love (& pinned) the African wildflower dress, the Smocked pant, and the shirting top in beach glass. The shirting top is classic but the beach glass color gives it a fresh feel. The smocked pant would be great for days spent writing and crafting from home or a coffee shop.

  19. Awesome carefree summer look! You rock the minimalist style, Megan. I’m really loving the French Terry Trouser Pants… honestly, I’m not sure why it took this long for “comfort/ loungewear” to become everyday fashion. It’s the bomb, people!

  20. WOW…okay there are too many things to like. The lagoon stripe tee, t-shirt dress, tee jumper and the blouse top dress. I also like the Kikka and Key West wedge sandals. The clothes are great b/c they’re effortless but stylish (and let’s not forget comfortable too) and the shoes…well b/c a girl can never have too many shoes. All items were pinned to either my “fashion” or “if the shoe fits” boards.

  21. I am obsessed with the T-shirt maxi dress, and also the Jumpsuit.

We’re heading into Autumn here so I pinned those items because you can layer them up quite nicely but also keep them by themselves for a classy casual autumn look. Australian autumns can be very dull but I feel these two outfits are just the pop of colour I need for my wardrobe.

Yikes! Have a wonderful time in Spain. I am a little envious, not gonna lie.

  22. I pinned the athletic woven pant! They look like a must have for the Spring and who doesn’t love pants that are cozy AND stylish. I was surprised they have a nice selection of shoes as well. Everything about splendid is splendid 🙂

  23. I love their products. It’s just the perfect combination of grown up elegance and fashion combined with California casual and comfort. I. Must. Have. It. All!!!!!

  24. Okay, I hope I’m doing this right. I love the Mandrarin Dress.. it just screams spring to me. It’s white, simple, and pure. I love, LOVE, the desert sands sweatshirt. I love basic pieces and this would look great with denim shorts. Then the indigo warm up tees warms my soul! 🙂

  25. The Desert Sands Sweatpants are perfect for the cool but sometimes hot weather in Washington in the Spring time. These pants caught my eye right off the bat, because I could wear them at home while I am painting, and put on a dressy top for the perfect no effort but still fabulous look to step out in.

  26. I pinned a ton of their summer pieces! I especially loved the California poppies dress! The pieces look all so flowy and lightweight and the colors are just gorgeous for the summer!

  27. How did I not know about the Splendid line before now!? They have such great stuff.

I’m really in love with the 3/4 Sleeve Shirting Top (in like every color!), Long Sleeve Layers Top (perfect for the cooler days of spring!), and the Indigo Knit Boyfriend Tee. I better start saving my pennies.

  28. I just discovered Splendid and I am in love!!! I am currently studying abroad and there has been no snow since February in Austria, however things are just starting to bloom. It is so exciting to go outside and see a little green starting to show! I find dead plants very depressing and can already feel my mood changing! I can’t wait to get home to plant my flowers and to surround myself with life! I pinned the maldives tote bag, the drapey lux placket tank, and the always shirting. I can’t wait to get somewhere where I can order from Splendid and get my things shipped to me!! Thanks for sharing!

  29. i’m a sucker for a wedge heel and a great bag … and these caught my eye … the culver wedge bootie + the coronado clutch. thanks for the giveaway and for introducing me to a great brand!

  30. This is the first time I’ve explored the Splendid line, thanks to your adorable outfit post. I pinned a couple of favorites I found: a few summer maxi dresses, the Atlanta sandal in both black and yellow, and the Sanger Oxford shoe. I love simple, yet dynamic pieces for my wardrobe. Fingers crossed and have a “splendid” time traveling!

  31. I love their site. They seem to have great, quality basics. Here are the items I chose: Indigo Knit Crew Pullover, African Wildflower Dress, and the Tulum Tote Bag. They are all great basics with awesome quality. I’m going to start saving my pennies for that tote bag 🙂

  32. I pinned a few tops that are light and airy- perfect for the springtime- I also pinned an awesome maxi dress- these are all very versatile pieces to pair with just about anything!!

  33. Though Splendid didn’t appeal instantly to my particular sensibility, there were a few pieces I adore. The romper suggested above is extremely promising as well as the scoop neck maxi in black. Would love to them out in the future.

  34. This is the first time I’ve heard of Splendid, thanks for sharing! I think I’ve fallen in love with the California Poppies Maxi Dress — it’s perfect for my trip to Nicaragua this summer (:

  35. Love the t romper. Easy to wear especially for those chilly spring days. 3/4 sleeve shirting top is perfect for getting back into the warmer months. I love all for Splendid’s lines. Thanks for sharing and safe travels to you! 🙂

  36. I fell in love with a Splendid dress at Nordstrom rack this weekend but couldn’t find the right size. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. The Drape Neck Dress would be perfect for a baby shower I’m going to.

  37. Loving the Henley Jumper, the Chambray pants, and the Venice Stripe Pocket T. I’m having a hard time transitioning from winter neutrals to spring – especially with this never ending New England winter hanging on, so these lovelies would help me get through the weird awkward phase.
