Styled: A Weekend Outfit #1
The beauty of warm summer days isn’t that they are warm, but that we have the option to wear loose fitting and lightweight clothing. I live for an “unfitted look” that can be hard to get away with in the winter and cooler months of the year. For summer, I have been on the lookout for the perfect pieces. I wanted to share a couple pieces that I love. These are pieces I wore while out furniture hunting last weekend in Raleigh just blocks from our house.
The one thing I always struggle with in the summer is pants. Warm, humid days, especially in Raleigh, make jeans hard to wear, so when I found these pants at Bridge and Burn I was sold. A loose fitting, cargo pocket trouser made of a silk smooth and breathable fabric is what you need for summer. It is the perfect any day pant no matter how hot it becomes. The loose fit looks awesome with a heel or with a favorite sandal. I love pairing it with a loose tank like this one from Lou & Grey ($10 on sale right now!)
It isn’t common for me to be without a tote on the weekends. I have had many totes. It’s almost a problem. Mike gives me a hard time about having too many, but this tote from Cuyana is the end-all-be-all of totes. It is no surprise they have created such a great bag either. Their belief in fewer and better things for women is the core of their product creation. It means their pieces will not go out of style, won’t fall apart, and come from quality materials with a great story behind them. I wish this had been the tote I had found four years prior. At $150, the price is accessible for a product of this quality. The colors are beautiful, they monogram, and did I mention the length of the strap? Any tote connoisseur knows the strap length is everything in determine a great tote. The strap length on this one is perfection. Too often, I find them to be too long or just too short, but the straps on this one are just right, as you can see in the images below. This bag is a weekend staple for getaways, market trips, and afternoon shopping trips.
I would love to hear what your summer go-to weekend outfits are? What recent pieces are becoming staples in your closet for warm days this year? I have quite a few, so I am excited to share more as we head through summer this year.
