Monday Morning

Today | The Fresh Exchange

Oh Monday you are a sneaky one, aren’t ya? Another week begins and it is officially the first full week of the new year. Why does that feel like such a big deal? I am not sure but it does. This weekend was a little rough as I was sick, but I conquered it just in time for the week to begin, phew!

This week holds a lot of big work, big emails, big talks, and big ideas. Weeks like this one kind of freak me out and I find myself procrastinating out of what I hate to admit is fear. Why do we fear success so much? Is it because we feel the chances are slim and failure seems just as close as the success? I am not sure, but I hate that no matter what I do I find ways to avoid doing what must be done when it comes to big things. This fear also shows me how much of our success and reaching our dreams truly lies in our own hands and minds.

Since this week holds so many big things and so many changes maybe this will be the week I finally let go of the fear. It is the first week of the new year anyways, right? I think this is a good place to start. So this will be the week to implement stronger shoulders and shaking off all that fear. What ya think?

Does this week hold anything big for you? What do you hope to conquer? Today is better than later isn’t it? I think it’s time to start fresh.

  1. I feel the same way. There’s just something about the freshness of the new year that makes this week, the first full week of 2013, seem like it’s full of possibilities. It’s scary, but I know it’ll be a good one for both of us 😉 xoxo

  2. Megan, I’ve always found fear of success is often more paralyzingly than the fear of failure. Being aware if this makes all trials you face easier to overcome. If you don’t try you can’t fail … Or better yet “succeed” … So pray about it first, then do it!!! Blessings on your journey❤

  3. Gosh do I know exactly what you mean. Best of luck with accepting the success you most certainly deserve 🙂 I am flying back to Paris at the end of this week after a long, relaxing holiday at home. Hoping for the best!

  4. Big things are scary, but it’s awesome you are taking them on! Always leads to better things.

This week I am just trying to push myself, so the warmer months are that much sweeter.

  5. Great post Megan! This morning started off with a big client kick off meeting – now, I’m into the rest of the ‘bigs’ for today. But you are right, this week holds many big things for me too. Good luck for a successful week, perhaps we should check back on Friday so see how we both did 🙂

  6. So good to hear I’m not the only one! I was asked to shoot 2 weddings for the Spring this past week. I am putting together pricing and trying to figure out packages. I am excited, but yes. Very fearful. I have found those to emotions combined can be a good combo. They keep us humble and always willing to learn something new. They keep us working hard and pressing on towards the future. Here’s to 2013! I can’t wait to see how your dreams come true too, Megan.

  7. This is the first week of the semester here at WMUniversity. We also have two five week old foster puppies moving in, my boyfriend has the flu, and I woke up with strepthroat. Should be a lot of conquering going on this week! Good luck with yours 🙂

  8. I couldn’t agree with you more. Fear is the hardest part. Not fear of failure, but fear of success. I found a great book called “Fear the fear and do it anyway” to help me out.

  9. I completely agree with you about today being the day to begin conquering things. And even though it’s no longer Monday… it’s gonna be a good week. These past two days have been full of positive getting-it-done moments. So here’s to hoping the rest of it goes swimmingly. And that yours does, too.
