Dreaming | The Fresh Exchange

Lately I have been dreaming about the next stage of The Fresh Exchange. Upon asking for your thoughts in our survey months back, I have been working through a redesign and taking notes of where things need to move in 2014. Currently, I am dreaming up what posts need more of, what needs to disappear, what to bring back, and what I am dying to explore. I love this space so much and each of you. So I take these decisions pretty seriously. I finally feel it is time for the next stage.

Any thoughts below will be so welcomed! I am dreaming wilder, dreaming bigger, and dreaming up more ideas than ever. I am excited to spend more time in this space in 2014. So ready to let out so many of the ideas I have been holding on to the past 6 months.

The images above are from (from left to right, top to bottom): style, sketch, haircut, leaves, hand lettering, sailboat, bedroom, canoeing, street style

  1. My one suggestion would be larger font and better line-spacing. I’m not trying to be a all snooty, and i love everything about the design of the site, just not the typography. I’d rather read in my RSS feed than here. :-/

    1. No this is awesome! Thank you! I will take this in to consideration. Also, am making a few different responsive design breaks for 13in and 15in screens as well so expect more of that to follow. Thanks for the honesty. It means a lot!

  2. Hey Megan! I’m excited to hear that you are going to be spending more time here in 2014- your blog has been a favorite of mine for awhile, so I love that 🙂 As far as thoughts on the site…I have always thought that your site loaded slowly compared to others. It hasn’t ever been a problem for me because I have very fast internet, but I imagine that it might be for someone else. And I would love to see more “Just 5” recipes! I miss those!

  3. This is going way back, I think it was your blog, where you found a piece of artwork and matched an outfit with it. I don’t know if this goes with your brand anymore but it was something new and different. (I saw it as a cool type of mood board) I also love how you draw out a simple evening into multiple posts. Keep up the cultivated feed. Love where your blog is going.

  4. This is so exciting! I absolutely love blog planning ( and just planning in general ). I would love to see more peeks at your design process! 🙂

  5. I haven’t been reading as long as Jordan has, but I am with her on the outfit post tied to a work of art. That sounds fantastic. What a great way to blend those two expressions!

  6. I am so excited to see your work your magic on here! This is one my favorite blogs to read. I also love your travel/adventure posts. Someone also mentioned a looking at your design process. I think that would be very fun to see!

  7. I am regularly inspired by your ideas and sense of go-for-it here. I really enjoy hearing about your creative story – the post about how telling your story and acting like a person instead of a robotic “professional” was a game changer for me. (I think this was from Circles?) I am a creative, though in a very different field, and I find myself coming to your site to see my own work through a new lens and to feed my own creative fire. Oh, and I love your travel stories. Beautiful, I mean gorgeous, pictures.

  8. Really enjoy all that you post! I love the travel stories & photographs as well as the honest stories of working HARD from both you and other Wild Measure type people. I love your images but wish I could see the whole image at once on my screen (I’m on a 15 in)- would love to see them in whole.
