As the leaves are changing and cooler weather is approaching (well at least in Northern Michigan). Apple cider is by the gallons and pumpkin donuts are no longer being avoided, I believe it is fall. So as I promised we will be beginning some new series on the blog such as “Ask Megan Wednesdays” I have some questions that have built up and am anxious to begin answering them.
If you have any questions feel free to email them to me at [email protected] and I will begin researching and get them for you on here 🙂
So this week I thought with Christmas just under 100 days away and many birthdays and other gatherings that happen around that time let’s deal with one of the hardest most difficult things as a girl…buying something for your guy.
I got a question from my good friend Kirbie the other day wondering what to get for her boyfriend Jeff for their one year. Jeff is in school studying medicine so he is a pretty smart guy and knows what he wants. So Kirbie is looking to find something that is unique, manly, and something he wouldn’t necessarily buy for himself.
I know this is a dilemma I reach every year with Mike and struggle to pick something out. I have had some success and probably some failures in the few years we have dated, been engaged, and got married. But today I thought I would give some great options for gifts not only for Kirbie but also a lot of us women out there that have no idea what to get our guy.
Any of these items would just make a guy pretty pumped but for Kirbie I think for a one year anniversary I would do something a little more intimate. I believe I would get him a very cool weekend bag from Fossil or another cool men’s store and pack it with everything for a trip to do something he loves maybe we drive out into the country for fishing and a picnic or for a weekend get away. Whatever it may be. Then write a note saying how much he means to you (guys don’t always need a lot of this like we do) but tell him the plan in the note and go. A plan to make memories. But he still gets a sweet bag out of the deal 🙂
Hope this helps Kirbie and anyone else trying to decide on what to do for that awesome guy in your life.
All of these are wonderful! I can personally testify (as I have received most of these things as gifts- including a map of south America) that they do indeed make thoughtful, creative gifts. good call megs!
