This weekend we made a point to not only get out in the sunshine (I have all sorts of Garden stuff to share with you all this week 🙂 ) but also to go hiking of course. It was still a little chilly near the water but honestly I couldn’t have cared. We did the classic Pyramid Point hike mainly just to remind ourselves that this place is absolutely out of this world gorgeous and that we live here for these warm days.

It was awesome to hike through the woods where the wild leeks were sprouting and the ground was preparing to be covered with Morels very soon. The ride up the Leelanau Penninsula was something else and I remembered once again why I love calling Northern Michigan home especially this time of year. There is no mistaking how gorgeous it is here. I wish I could just bring you all up this hill to see this view in person because there is no other way to see it.

The whole way up the hill you can hear the faint sound of the light house from the islands and feel the cool breeze of the expansive crystal clear lake. It smelled of the wild leeks and freshly emerged ground. We saw deer, a porcupine, and plenty of squirrels (the one reason Tucker loves hiking more than anything).

It was such a perfect way to begin the season. I love taking this hike at least 4 times a year to see how it all changes and how the water never fails to amaze me no matter how hot, cold, cloudy, or fresh it is. Love that Lake more than it may ever know.

What did you do this weekend? Did you have Spring weather?
