Monday Words: Teddy Roosevelt Quote | The Fresh Exchange

Good ole’ Teddy. He doesn’t disappoint when it comes to clear cut wisdom does he? I love this quote though because it is such an important reminder of the importance of always sticking to being a real dreamer but never losing sight of reality enough to keep you grounded. Dreams are nothing without feet on the ground to take them somewhere. I have learned this the hard way by coming up with tons of ideas and lacking the ability to execute. Overtime and having the chance to work alongside Mike, this has changed, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need this reminder daily.

But just as the dreamer needs to be reminded to keep their feet grounded, the practical needs the dreamer to take them to a place where they can see that without a doubt the sky is the limit. Mike and I have found a balance between each other. Though we each lean closer to the middle of being the dreamer or the practical, I have a tendancy to the dreamy one and he has the tendancy to keep us grounded. We respect that about one another and know when to push the other and when not to.

Even if you don’t have a partner to keep your head out of the clouds or too attached to the ground, you can find ways to release in either direction. So tell us all how do you find balance for yourself dreaming and remaining grounded all in the same breath?
