Seeking | The Fresh Exchange

When I was in middle school, I did a report on Vincent Van Gogh and his life. We didn’t have to choose an artist; we could choose any famous person, and I chose him. Van Gogh lived a tortured life both brought on by himself and by others. We know him well for his Starry Night, Irises, Cafe Terrace at Night, and many others. During his time he never was famous for his work, in fact, he was scoffed at for what he created. It wasn’t till after his suicide that his work became famous. Though it is a sad story with many other folds of details in between this small description, I found inspiration in his life.

Van Gogh even in his pain and ridicule continued pursuing what he loved and felt called to do. As the quote says above he was seeking, striving, and going for it with his whole heart. For me, his paintings are beautiful, but his passion behind them is even more so. I think his desire for what he loved is an inspiring thing to take into the week. No matter what lies ahead this week for you, remind yourself that every moment you are seeking, striving, and working for your dream with your whole heart. Sometimes we just need reminders to keep pursuing new ideas and the details of the day-to-day.
