Mats Gustafson – fashion illustrator
I thought I would end the week with some very beautiful work by Mats Gustafson. He was a Swedish artist and illustrator that captured the basic shapes and elegance of fashion during the height of the fashion era between 1950 – 1970. His work takes a modeled garment down to it’s basic shape and frame and giving it pure elegance. I feel that anything that can be taken to this point of simplicity and still feel even stronger than when it was seen in person is a true work of art.
Simplicity proves great work.
So I thought I would share his work with you today. I particularly love the dresses and layers in them with the layers of water color create. The colors are so beautiful. They feel as if they were seen on a foggy day, which is always so serene.
Hope you all have a great weekend. We are headed over to do Christmassy things with my family this evening such as make cookies and so on so closing down the office and heading out. It’s been a crazy week!!
